چکیده

Objective: Ziprasidone, aripiprazole, blonanserin, cyamemazine, and nemonapride are atypical antipsychotic drugs used for the treatment of schizophrenia. This study aimed to identify effects these in mice isolated bladder using organ bath systemMaterials Methods: The were injected intraperitoneally with 21 days. investigated on isoproterenol-induced relaxation responses carbachol-induced contractions detrusor strips. strips stimulated KCl, then tissues washed a further 30 min precontracted submaximal concentration carbachol. After contraction reached plateau, cumulative concentration-response curves isoproterenol obtained. Results: We showed that dose-dependently relaxed by obtained from ziprasidone, cyamemazine but not treated group. However, none drug treatments had any effect KCl mice's bladder. Conclusion: increased relaxations smooth muscle indicates it can increase capacity. demonstrate four may represent potential overactive bladder. They might be clinically useful patients should use antipsychotics.

Effects of 17β-oestradiol on rat detrusor smooth muscle contractility

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 17beta-oestradiol (E(2)) on detrusor smooth muscle contractility and its possible neuroprotective role against ischaemic-like condition, which could arise during overactive bladder disease. The effect of E(2) was investigated on rat detrusor muscle strips stimulated with carbachol, KCl and electrically, in the absence or presence of a selec...

Chronic ethanol consumption impairs adrenoceptor- and purinoceptor-mediated relaxations of isolated rat detrusor smooth muscle.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of chronic ethanol consumption on the reactivity of detrusor smooth muscle. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eight male rats received ethanol (7.2% v/v) in a modified liquid diet for 4 weeks. Two control groups were assessed; eight rats in one group were fed sucrose and received a liquid diet, and 12 rats in the second group received standard rat chow and water for 4...

Effects of ginger extract on smooth muscle activity of sheep reticulum and rumen

Reticulorumen hypomotility leads to the impaired physiologic functions of the digestive tract. Prokinetic action of ginger has been demonstrated in the laboratory animals and human. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of hydroalcoholic extract of ginger on contraction and motility of reticulum and rumen of ruminants. Collected samples of reticulum and rumen from eight sheep were in...
